WILLIAM SCOTT WORTHUnion Officer, son of William Worth, the general noted for his efforts in the Seminole Wars and eponymous honoree of Fort Worth in Texas. Worth fought in the Spanish-American War, where he gained fame for continuing his unit's charge of San Juan Hill when his commander (Charles Wikoff) was shot and killed. Scarce S.P., a CDV head and shoulders image, boldly inscribed across his officer's uniform: "Your friend, W.S. Worth". Worth has inscribed also on verso: "Charleston, May 24th '70, 'Jus the Same'". Backstamp by Quinby & Co., Charleston, S.C. Uneven toning on bottom edge, else very good.
