Excellent lot of four badges, one medal, and two brooches. The first is issued by the Ancient Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (Shriners), c.1900, including: an interesting two-part silver plated badge with ceremonial sword through crescent moon, with the word "Mecca" in raised lettering, attached to a pyramid with the image of HAJI emblazoned on the crescent moon; an exceptional three-part partly-enameled silver plate badge, c. 1905, Boston Council No.44, U.C.T., with a fine depiction of Boston during the colonial era (with engraved Indian), attached to a name plate which is then connected to a crescent moon holding a piece of monogrammed luggage, cast by Eureka jewelry, Boston, MA. ; a fine two-part badge connected by original multi-colored ribbon, heavily enameled. First part is marked Dallas, 1913, and depicts a crescent moon emblazoned with a richly enameled star against a pyramid. Part two depicts Shriners riding on camelback, passing the great Pyramid, under the protection of the great Sphinx, with the image engulfed within the crescent moon. The word "Memphis" and 1914 are in gold lettering, enameled in red. With a fine 3mm heavily enameled brooch, c. early 1900's, honoring the Ben-Kedem-Temple in Charleston, West Virginia. It depicts the Great Sphinx atop the Crescent moon, adorning a fez with gold star. Cast by the Whitehead & Hoag Co., probably gold filled. Also offered in this lot is a pair of two-part hanging brooches, each depicting the Sword attached to the crescent moon, which is adorned with the Great Sphinx faces made in ebony, clothed in golden garment, and attached to the crescent moon which is made of bone. The Swords are enameled: one with the word Tigris, the other: Ziyara, cast by Gorton, MA. Very good to fine condition, five pieces.
