"SHOW YOUR COLORS" PATRIOTIC BROADSIDE An interesting patriotic manuscript (unsigned), entitled "Show Your Colors", and rallying citizens to join the Union cause, 1p. 8vo., Aurora, New York, [1861], with fine content, in part: "...Eternal vigilance is the price of Liberty, Citizens of Aurora and Vicinity let us show now that we fully appreciate this blessing; that we love our Country and her institutions and are ready to sustain and defend them. Traitors have conspired to their ruin and the darkest hour of our nation's existence is now upon us...assemble at the Aurora House on Monday Eve, April 29th 1861 - organize a Military Company...". Docket at bottom right reads: "Drawn up by my father Dr. E. Leffingwell [?]". Central fold reinforced on verso to a strip of paper. Otherwise light staining and in very good condition.
