PERU HOSPITAL DOCUMENT FROM 1605 Manuscript D.S. in Spanish, 3pp., folio, Lima, Dec. 8, 1605, a contract between the butcher Juan Lopez de Mestanza and priest-cum-hospital administrator Juan Manuel Carresco. Mestanza and Carresco agree to a supply of beef from animals fat and healthy, for food to both the ill and the staff of the Hospital of Santa Ana. The Spanish who conquered Peru had established a church to Saint Anne in Lima by 1550. Shortly after, the Real Hospital de Santa Ana opened its doors, founded to treat the country's indigenous people only. The hospital stands today, now known in Peru as the Hospital de Maternidad. The document further stipulates that Mestanza can present his bills to the hospital accountant for payment. Small holes affecting text and signatures, moderate brittleness,
