KENNEDY SENATORIAL CAMPAIGN ARCHIVE An archive of material directly related to John F. Kennedy's 1952 bid for election to the United States Senate, about 130pp. of lists, letters, fundraising information, notes, etc., most on "John F. Kennedy for U.S. Senator" letterhead, from the estate of William O'Connor, Kennedy's campaign manager in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Lawrence was an important manufacturing city, ethnically diverse and with a strong Democratic base. Prominent in the archive are: four 5" x 6 1/2" candid photos (one damaged) of the young congressman with various supporters, ten letters from LAWRENCE F. O'BRIEN who would run all of Kennedy's campaigns, setting forth procedures for running the campaign, soliciting voters, Kennedy's appearances, etc., Kennedy newsletters, directions for volunteers, lists of expenses and financial statements, lists of campaign workers and supporters, poll results, O'Connor's notes on the demographics of the region, a few later letters to O'Connor, including one or two from TED KENNEDY declining invitations, and so on. A great insight into local efforts on Kennedy's behalf, and worthy of a bit of research. Overall very good.
Estimate $ 400-600
