JAMES MADISON(1751-1836) Fourth President of the United States considered the "Father of the Constitution", he authored the Federalist papers and sponsored the Bill of Rights. Uncommon partly-printed D.S. as President, 1p. folio, Washington, Aug. 26, 1829, a four-language ship's paper issued to Ebenezer Eveleth, master of the schooner "Betsy" hailing from Baltimore, bound from that port to St. Bartholomew laden with a cargo of "Flour". Boldly signed in full by Madison and Secretary of State ROBERT SMITH at center. Light damp stain along part of one fold, tiny hole at one fold juncture, else quite good.
