A good group of five pieces mostly written to the late Senator Paul Simon, including: MARY ROBINSON, President of Ireland, T.L.S. 1p. 4to., [Dublin], Aug. 8, 1997 thanking Simon for his letter "...following the announcement of my appointment as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights..."; ARPAD GONCZ, President of Hungary, T.L.S. 1p. 4to., Budapest, Oct. 22, 1996 writing on the occasion of Simon's retirement from the Senate: "...The Hungarian people will not forget your unwavering support for our attempts to rejoin the West..."; LEE TENG-HUI, President of Taiwan, T.L.S. 2pp. 4to., [Taipei], Sept. 3, 1996 writing on the occasion of his retirement from the Senate: "...You call for an ROC seat in the U.N.... you speak highly of our democratization, and you call for peace across the Taiwan Straits..."; BOUTROS BOUTROS-GHALI, U.N. Secretary General, T.L.S. 1p. 4to., [New York], Sept. 30, 1996 noting Simon's support for the United Nations and soliciting his help; and JAN MASARYK, first president of Czechoslovakia, signature with sentiment dated [London], Aug. 1942.
