Good content T.L.S. 1p. 4to., on his personal letterhead, Independence, Mo., Apr. 15, 1959 to veteran journalist and radio broadcaster Charter Heslep. Truman opens apologizing for not seeing Heslep personally when he visited Truman's presidential library, adding "...I am very happy that you found the Library of interest...What the objective is, is to make a collection of the studies of all the Presidents and see to it that the youngsters understand it in words of one syllable...". Truman then adds "You have a most wonderful library and I hope you keep adding to it. I also hope when the time comes for you to pass on that you will leave it to this institution where all the books will be public documents...".
