Sale 38 Lot 1545

HARRY HOUDINIRare signed printing Spiritism Ethics of the Ouija-Board, The America Press, New York, 30pp. 8vo., ca. 1920, boldly signed "Houdini" beneath the title. A debunking of spiritism and Ouija boards by clergymen, going to the extent of calling the use of an Ouija board a "sin" and spiritism a "synthesis of heresies". Last eight pages slightly damp-stained at bottom, chip at corner of last page with no loss, else generally very good. Houdini was, of course, a major force in the contradiction of mediums and spiritism itself. From the estate of his close friend, fellow magician Joseph Dunninger.
