GROVER CLEVELAND (1837 - 1908) 22nd and 24th President of the United States, supported civil service and fiscal reform. Fine content A.L.S. as President on Executive Mansion letterhead, 2pp. 8vo., Washington, Oct. 27, 1895, addressed: "To The Diplomatic and Consular Representatives of the United States". Cleveland writes on behalf of Robert C. Rogers, "a gentleman of culture and excellent breeding" and asks that during Rogers' "extended tour" he be granted all courtesies possible. Some thinning of paper at top of the blank integral leaflight soiling, else very good.
