ROOSEVELTFine content A.Ms. (unsigned), on a 1p. 8vo. sheet of his "Memorandum" letterhead, [n.p., n.d.], then-Governor Roosevelt writes notes on organizing a celebration of George Washington's birthday. In full: "Temporary State Commission on the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of George Washington - 2 addition [sic] members to be appointed by the Governor: Adelbert M. Scriber of Monticello - Historian & editor of The Republican Watchman". Adelbert Marvin Scriber (1865-1948), was a local Democratic politician, serving as a Delegate to the DNC in 1944. Light folds at left edge, otherwise very boldly penned and fine.
