ERICH LEINSDORFImportant D.S., 15pp. legal folio, Boston, June 20, 1962, a contract made between Leinsdorf and the Boston Symphony Orchestra in which Leinsdorf is retained as conductor for the period of three years at the rate of $70,000 per year with additional sums paid for broadcasts, royalties, inclusion of an annuity, travel expenses, etc. A few marginal stains here and there, otherwise very good. Leinsdorf remained with Boston until 1969, the continued to guest-conduct operas and orchestras around the world for the next two decades, being particularly associated with the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic. With a D.S. of RUDOLPH BING (1992-1997) Austrian-born opera impresario and General Manager of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, 2pp. legal folio, New York, Mar. 11, 1966, a contract with Leinsdorf hiring the conductor for three performances at $1,500 each to conduct Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro", signed twice by Bing, once each at the bottom of each page, and secretarially signed for Leinsdorf. Very good. Two pieces.
