Sale 38 Lot 686

ELEANOR ROOSEVELT I.S.P. 8" x 10" b/w, a three-quarter image of the former First Lady sitting at her desk, c. 1958. Gary Wagner photography stamp at bottom right, boldly signed in blue fountain pen. Slight blotting within inscription, with part of "Roosevelt" in dark area. Contrast is still very good. Along with two T.L.S.'s on her personal stationary, 8vo., the first April 19, 1959, regretting an invitation to do a lecture and advising the recipient to contact her agent. The second, Jan. 19, 1960, reads, in part: "....I will be delighted to meet you at the Waldorf Astoria, the Louis XVI Room.....However, I may have to leave possibly rather early as I am driving to Hyde Park that night to be there next morning....". First letter has a heavy fold through center and slight foxing within. Second letter very good. Three pieces.
