DWIGHT D. EISENHOWERT.L.S. as President-elect on "Office of Dwight D. Eisenhower" letterhead, 1p., 4to, New York, Dec. 27, 1952 to William Stathos. Mr. Stathos, a friend of Eisenhower's son, had written Eisenhower shortly after his Nov. 4 , 1952 Presidential victory to ask for a job. Eisenhower replied to the request, in part: "...So far as entering our personal service is concerned, you understand, of course, that we are soon to go to Washington. So far as we know, the White House is already staffed with civil service personnel. Consequently, we have no idea whether or not there is any vacancy for someone of your special qualifications. However, I will turn your letter over to our personnel officer...". Thinning of paper at margins where removed from an album, also causing a tiny hole at upper right, else very good.
Estimate $ 300-400
