Broadside, 1p. folio, ([London]: J. Catnach, [ 1825?]) bearing an engraving of the famous disaster on the River Clyde in Scotland while en route from Inverness to Glasgow. The boat, sailing in the early morning of October 21, 1825 was struck by the steam boat Ayr with such force that the Comet sank almost immediately, and only 10 of the 80 passengers aboard were saved. The broadside gives a detailed account of the marine disaster noting the names of the known passengers together with an ode dedicated to the victims at the bottom. Some marginal dampstaining, uneven toning and creases, else very good. Simply framed in black wood molding. Not examined out of frame.
