CARL G. JUNG(1875 - 1961) Swiss psychiatrist in association with Freud, a founder of analytic psychology who developed theories of the collective unconscious and archetypes. Fine content A.L.S. "C. G. Jung" on his personal letterhead, with holograph transmittal envelope also signed "Dr. Jung" at lower-left, 1p. 8vo., Zurich, Apr. 14, 1926 to James Oppenheim (1882-1932), a lay analyst and early follower of Jung. Oppenheim was also the founder and editor of The Seven Arts, an important early 20th-century literary magazine. In part: "...Your a fair representation of my ideas. I found nothing in it that would need a serious criticism. Your interpretation is simple, clear and sufficient for the purpose. I much admired your candidness and sincerity. Thus I hope your representation of my psychology will also be successful...". Letter bears a few tiny edge tears, but is otherwise very good; the envelope is split and heavily soiled but the signature remains acceptable.
