BIGELOW'S BATTERY GETTYSBURG MUSTER ROLL A great probable late war-date, 4pp. folio, manuscript muster roll for Bigelow's Battery 9th Massachusetts Light Artillery, listing all the members of the center and right section of Bigelow's Battery throughout the war. This highly detailed regimental roll includes each man's name, rank, detachment detail and, incredibly, his respected position at the guns during a battle. During the Battle of Gettysburg, Bigelow's Battery was decimated by Longstreet's artillery while positioned near the Trostle Farm on July 2, 1863. Ten men on the roll are noted as killed or mortally wounded at Gettysburg. Interestingly, famed regimental artist Bugler Charles W. Reed is mentioned. Some folds splits, else very good, worthy of further research.
