A FOREIGNER'S VIEW OF THE OPERATION OF CONGRESS Good content A.L.S., 3pp. 8vo., Montreal, July 29, 1791 to "Judge Sullivan" in which Thomas Caren [?] mentions his visit to Congress while in session. In part: "...Our good & amicable friends Governor Mifflin & General Stuart make an impression on my mind...the frequent mornings I spent in your Congress, & the debates of its members, I shall ever consider with Rapture and Delight; I think those mornings the most elegantly and splendidly filled, of any in the course of my life. Good God, when shall I be able to convert my property & waft myself & family to Dear America; & dwell among the great apertures of the rights of Mankind? tongue never ceases the praise of your Country...". Very good.
