(1892 - 1973) British author known especially for his works The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. A superb signed book, his classic volume The Hobbit (London: Allen & Unwin, 1971), 2nd Edition, boldly signed on the half-title page: "J. R. R. Tolkien". With original dustjacket and in near fine condition with a custom dark green linen slipcase. A rare find!
